Sabine Pass LNG updates expansion schedule

Sabine Pass LNG, a unit of Cheniere, provided FERC with an updated construction schedule of the anticipated expansion of its LNG export terminal at Cameron Parish, Louisiana.

The letter to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission also enclosed updates on the pipeline expansion project.

The updated schedule is based on the substantial completion date guaranteed by Sabine Pass EPC contractor, stands in the letter, assuming a June 2015 completion of the regulatory process.

The company stated that a more expeditious permitting process might shorten the completion timeframe.

Under the updated schedule, stage 3 construction should begin in June 2015, with the pipeline construction start scheduled for June 2017. Pipeline is scheduled to be in service by December 2018 with Train 5 expected to be in service by December 2019. A possible train 6 would be in service when commercially feasible, stands in the letter.
