Samudera Indonesia scores LNG shipping deal

Shipping company Samudera Indonesia has reportedly secured a US$70 million contract to transport LNG to a power plant operated by state-owned miner Aneka Tambang.

According to local media reports, the company will use one or two ships to serve the power plant located in Pomalaa, Southeast Sulawesi.

Samudera Indonesia will start transporting the chilled gas next year. The length of the contract was not revealed.

The reports also said that the company is bidding for Pertamina’s LNG FSRU project in Java, Indonesia.

The FSRU would be leased for 20 years, and the tender is still in early stages.
