Santos: 44 PNG LNG cargoes delivered so far

The US$18.8 billion PNG LNG project delivered 44 cargoes of the chilled gas since its start-up, according to Australia’s Santos, the owner of a 13.5 percent stake in the project.

Tepco’s Futtsu terminal in Japan received the first PNG LNG cargo onboard the 177.000 cbm Spirit of Hela on June 3.

The partners in the ExxonMobil-operated LNG project are currently seeking gas to underpin an expansion of the project near Port Moresby, Santos said in its investor presentation on Wednesday.

According to Oil Search, which holds a 29 percent stake in the project, the undeveloped gas in the existing portfolio can support at least two additional LNG trains at the 6.9 mtpa facility.

The LNG project is a joint venture between ExxonMobil, Oil Search, National Petroleum Company of PNG (PNG Govt), Santos, Nippon Oil and MRDC (PNG Landowners).
