Shell opens LNG station in Eindhoven

Anglo-Dutch energy giant Shell has expanded its LNG filling station network in the Netherlands with the opening of its fifth LNG station for trucks, in Eindhoven.

Shell said on Tuesday the station is located along the A2 motorway, a major route connecting Belgium, France and the German Ruhr area and is capable of loading 200 trucks per day.

Vos Logistics, Zandbergen Transport en Waterfront BV (part of Snel Logistic) were among the first customers of the newly opened LNG station.

Shell added that it intends to build more LNG filling stations in the Netherlands as well as to expand its LNG stations network in Europe.

Lauran Wetermans, general manager downstream LNG at Shell, said the options in the truck market are increasing and the company continues to work with truck manufacturers, customers and policymakers to further develop the market.
