DaeSun Shipyard Names and Delivers 950-TEU SITC Kwangyang

DaeSun Shipbuilding & Engineering Co., Ltd. (DSSE), on the morning of January 5th 2012, had a naming and delivery ceremony for the first feeder boxship of 950-TEU class built for SITC International Holdings Co., Ltd (SITC).

Mr. Yang Xianxiang, CEO of SITC, Mr. J. Y. Ahn, President of DAE SUN Shipbuilding and Engineering Co., Ltd attended the ceremony and made a speech successively in the naming ceremony. Mr. Xue Mingyuan, president of SITC Container lines officially named the container ship as SITC Kwangyang.

Mr. Zhang Lijie, general manager of SITC Container Lines (Shanghai), cut down the rope and opened champagne for celebration.

Established in 1945, Dae Sun Shipbuilding & Engineering Co., Ltd. has since played an important role in the medium shipbuilding industry in Korea. Situated at the center of the port of Busan, which provides optimum geographical advantages the shipyard has built over 480 ships of various types including:

– Container Ships: nominal capacity up to 2,500 TEU

– Tankers: Oil and Chemicals Tanker up to DWT 40,000

– Bulk Carriers: Nominal capacity up to DWT 40,000

– MPC & General Cargo Ships: All types of vessel up to DWT 30,000

– RO/RO Ships: Various types of RO/RO Ships up to DWT 10,000
