SPT Lands Dudgeon Substation Foundation Deal

SPT Offshore has been awarded the design, fabrication and installation of the suction pile foundation for Statoil Siemens Dudgeon Transformer Substation.

This deal will support Sembmarine SLP, main fabricator for this substation, who was initially awarded the contract by Siemens Transmission & Distribution Limited for design, engineering, procurement, project management and construction of the platform’s jacket substructure and topside.

The 4-leg jacket will support the topsides weighing approx. 1,850 ton.

“We are extremely pleased with this first suction pile founded substation in UK waters,” said Mark Riemers MD of SPT Offshore.

“We trust this will create more business for the silently and swiftly installed suction pile foundations in the UK, after having installed several suction pile foundations for oil & gas platforms and subsea structures in the UK North Sea and East Irish Sea,” Riemers added.

Dudgeon offshore wind farm with a total capacity of 402MW will be able to produce enough electricity for around 410,000 households
