Statoil to Use Maersk Inspirer for Volve Field Drilling (Norway)

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has granted Statoil consent to carry out drilling and completion of wells on the Volve offshore field with the Mærsk Inspirer jack-up drilling rig.

The consent relates to drilling, sidetrack drilling, plugging, completion and well interventions.  Volve field is located 200 kilometres west of Stavanger at the southern end of the Norwegian sector.

The plan is to start drilling and associated completion on 1 December 2012.
