Talisman Receives Approval to Use MSV Regalia on Yme Field

Talisman to Use MSV Regalia on Yme Field

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has granted Talisman Energy Norge AS renewed consent to use the MSV Regalia accommodation rig on the Yme offshore field.

On 13 October 2011, Talisman received consent to use the MSV Regalia mobile living quarters facility for accommodation on the Yme field. Roman Stavanger was also a flotel on the field.

As a result in delays in the commissioning of the Yme facility, the conditions regarding use of Rowan Stavanger have changed, as this will now be used as a living quarters facility on the Rev field. Talisman therefore reapplied for a new consent to use the Prosafe owned MSV Regalia as the only living quarters facility for Yme. Consent was granted on 19 April 2012. MSV Regalia will have a gangway connection to the production and storage facility at Yme.

MSV Regalia is a semi-submersible multi-service vessel able to work in all geographical areas, including harsh environments such as the UK and Norwegian Continental Shelves. MSV Regalia was built in 1985 at GVA Sweden to an enhanced GVA design, and upgraded in 2003. She offers accommodation for 282 offshore personnel in single man cabins. In 2009 MSV Regalia underwent a major 20 year life extension refurbishment and refit. All accommodation, entertainment, catering, office and exercise facilities were replaced. She had new main engines and complete refurbishment to Thrusters and DP system.
