Thumbs up for European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre (UK)

Aberdeenshire Council has given the offshore wind farm proposal near Aberdeenshire the thumbs up.

The proposal, as well as the details of all project related concerns will be sent to the body that manages Scotland’s waters, Marine Scotland.

Vattenfall, Technip and Aberdeen Renewable Energy Group (AREG), a GBP 150 million joint venture behind the cutting edge European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre in Scottish waters, are planning to install 11 wind turbines off Aberdeen Bay.

The Scottish government will have the final say regarding the EOWDC, expected later in 2012.
