Unique Group targets Kazakhstan market through new partnership

Provider of integrated subsea and offshore solutions Unique Group has entered into the Kazakhstan market through a partnership with Kazakh firm Caspian InterIndustrial Company (CIC).

Unique said on Wednesday that the agreement would cover the territory of Kazakhstan and result in the establishment of a local office and workshop within the region to support the offshore and onshore oil & gas sector as well as the mining and utility market sectors.

Partnership with Kazakhstan-based oil and gas services provider CIC will focus on the promotion and deliverance of Unique’s on-site engineering services to the market including hot tapping and line plugging, specialized machining applications, and leak sealing and controlled bolting services.

The aim of the deal between the two is establishing a joint venture company within the country which will enable transfer of knowledge and assets to a 100 percent Kazakhstan-led entity focused on delivering international products and quality services to the local market.

Unique Group’s newly appointed director of its On-Site Engineering division, Steve Hague, said: “This is a very exciting and positive move by Unique Group to expand and develop a foothold into the Eastern European and Eurasian market. The varied portfolio of Unique Group covering a multitude of market areas and diversity of the Kazakhstan market will further enhance value to the local economy.”

Nurlan Chugayev, Head of Mechanical Services at CIC, added: “We’re pleased to have partnered with Unique Group. As a company, we’re focused on developing the offshore oil industry, its related infrastructure as well as the provision of marine and land-based seismic services to the local market.

“Partnering with Unique Group was only imminent considering the broad range of services they offer and their eagerness to grow in this geographical region.”
