U.S. Offshore rigs jack up by one unit

Baker Hughes issued its weekly rig count for North America earlier this week, on Wednesday, November 26, ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.

According to the report, the number of rigs in the North America fell by 8 units to 2355, compared to 2363 a week ago.

However, the overall number shows that there were 207 more active rigs in North America than in the same period of 2013 with 2148 rigs.

The U.S. weekly rig numbers fell by twelve units to 1851 from 1864 a week before.

As for the United States’ offshore rigs, the number rose by 1, to 54 active units, but it was down by 3, when compared to the same period of 2013 when there were 57 active offshore rigs.

Canada recorded a rise in its weekly rig count with 438 active units, up 4 from a previous week when it had 434 active rigs.
