USA: County Performs Final Inspection of Hernando Dredging Project

County Performs Final Inspection of Hernando Dredging Project

A final inspection was performed by County staff last week and found the project site to be restored per the contract terms.

The surveys of the channel and Snapper Canal were sent to FDEP for their final approval. The County is waiting for releases from some citizens who are having repairs done by BCPeabody.

Hernando County’s dredging project has been ongoing since 1994. The channel was straightened and deepened to a depth of about six feet to make it easier for recreational and commercial boaters.

This project was named as one of the top 13 achievements of the last fiscal year.
