Dredging of St. Augustine Inlet About to Begin.

The City of St. Augustine has announced that the $2.3 million inlet dredging work will begin this week.

This project includes dredging of 162,000 cubic yards of beach quality sand from the St. Augustine Inlet flood shoal just north and south of the Vilano Bridge.

According to staugustine.com, the 24-inch pipeline will be placed as close to the eastern side of Salt Run as possible and will include two booster pump barges.

The project should be completed by November 1.
