VIDEO: Naming the Seajacks Scylla

By Robert Sinclair
Project Director at The Prospector

The naming ceremony of the largest self-propelled jack-up vessel in the world, the Seajacks Scylla, took place at Great Yarmouth Port Authority last month and The Prospector magazine were given the opportunity to film and record exclusive footage of the entire day. The day started with a champagne reception which included a speech from CEO, Blair Ainslie, the actually naming ceremony of the vessel, and full tour of the Scylla. The Prospector magazine were able to capture some spectacular shots of the vessel in all its glory using a remote controlled drone throughout the course of the day. The Scylla vessel is currently at work off the coast of Germany, working on the Veja Mate project installing monopiles for their client Offshore WindForce; a joint venture between Royal Boskalis Westminster and Volker Stevin International.
