Video: on board Ichthys drilling rigs
Inpex, the operator of the giant Ichthys LNG project in Australia, posted a video of a “typical day” on board the LNG project’s two development drilling rigs – ENSCO 5006 and Transocean’s Jack Bates.
The US$34 billion LNG project commenced drilling at the Ichthys gas-condensate field, about 200 kilometres off the Western Australian coast in February this year.
The first development well was spudded on 3 February by the LNG project’s development drilling rig ENSCO-5006.
Both rigs are supported with aviation and marine services, as well as bulk goods supplies, from Inpex’ dedicated offshore logistics base in Broome, Western Australia.
