World’s Largest Boxship Readies for Inauguration

The CMA CGM Group announced the arrival of CMA CGM JULES VERNE, the world’s largest containership, sailing under the French flag.

CMA CGM JULES VERNE began its first rotation on Friday, May 3rd, in Pusan, South Korea. Operated on the emblematic line of the Group, the « French Asia Line » (FAL 1), the CMA CGM JULES VERNE will call at Pusan, Qingdao, Ningbo, Shanghai, Xiamen, Chiwan, Yantian, Port Kelang, Suez, Malta, Marseilles, Tanger, Southampton, Hamburg, Bremerhaven, Rotterdam, Zeebrugge, Le Havre, Malta, Suez, Khor Al Fakkan, Jebel Ali, Port Kelang and Ningbo.

To celebrate the 35th anniversary of the CMA CGM Group, CMA CGM JULES VERNE will deviate from her rotation and call in Marseilles, where she will be inaugurated on Tuesday, June 4th, in the presence of Mr. François Hollande, President of the French Republic.

CMA CGM JULES VERNE is the third 16 000 teu vessel that has been delivered to the CMA CGM Group. This giant of the seas displays exceptional dimensions: 396 meters of length and 54 meters of width. In line with the sustainable development policy of the Group, CMA CGM JULES VERNE is equipped with all the latest environmental technologies.
