$900 Million FPSO Contract for OSX (Brazil)

OSX in FPSO Deal with Petrobras

Brazil’s state-controlled oil company Petrobras has signed contracts with OSX for conversion of two oil tankers into Floating Production Storage and Offloading vessels, announced OSX at Bovespa, a stock exchange from São Paulo, Brazil.

Under the $900 million deal, the Brazilian shipbuilder, owned by the eccentric billionaire Eike Batista, is expected to deliver the vessels P-67 and P-70 in 49 months and 60 months respectively.

“With the largest offshore investment program in the world, Petrobras has now become the fourth client to award a contract to OSX’s Shipbuilding Unit. We are very proud of that fact,” said Carlos Bellot, CEO of OSX Brasil S.A.

The vessels, once delivered, will be moored in Brazil’s Santos basin. Also, under the agreement, Petrobras has an option to order a third FPSO.
