Senegal - President Inaugurates Expanded Dakar Container Terminal

Inauguration of the Port of Dakar’s containers terminal was presided by the President of the Republic of Senegal, Mister Abdoulaye Wade, who was accompanied by many personas and by the General Manager of Boluda Towage and Salvage Africa, Mister Hervé Lefèvre.

Once the extension of the containers terminal has been completed, the Port of Dakar will be ready to take advantage of the 8 hectares area extended to the sea. The Autonomous Port of Dakar is in charge of operations conducted at the terminal whose depth has been increased 13, 50 m, what will considerably contribute to its operational capacity.

Boluda Towage and Salvage tug

The whole terminal has been awarded to DP World who has provided it with arcade cranes and terminal machinery thus accounting for the biggest inversion since the signature of the concession in 2007.

The inaugural ceremony was eagerly welcomed along with the accompanying exhibition of the performances and skills of movement of the tugs of Boluda Towage and Salvage which give services in the Port of Dakar.
