China: MG COURAGE Redelivered to Its Owners Two Days Ahead of Schedule

 

MV MG COURAGE arrived at CIC Changxing Shipyard for repairs on March 25th 2012. The vessel is a 200,000 DWT ore carrier from one famous Japanese shipping company. It was the second time of MV MG COURAGE to be repaired in the shipyard.

During its repairs, the heavy weather in Shanghai area seriously affected the production arrangement of the shipyard. In the meantime the shipyard was already in full swing, furthermore the bad weather had made the shipyard’s production mission even tougher.

The subject vessel came for a normal repair, the docking job and hull painting was the critical path items. The shipyard informed the docking schedule in advance for ship owner’s preparation before her arrival, and deeply discussed and well planned all works which would be done in dock soon after her arriving at the yard. They completed the grit blasting then painting the hull whenever the acceptable weather available while she was in the dock. 5-day was scheduled for her docking period, but all docking jobs were finished within 2 days and she undocked at the 3rd day finally.
