NCS: Three Naming Ceremonies in One Day, China

New Century Shipbuilding GROUP held, on September 20th 2012, held naming ceremonies for three newbuild vessels. The vessels which are 320.000 DWT crude oil tanker, 176.000 DWT bulk carrier, 82.000 DWT bulk carrier were named at the wharf of NEW TIMES SHIPBUILDING CO. (NTS) and NEW CENTRY SHIPBUILDING CO. (NCS).

At 10:30 in the morning, representatives from both Owner side and Class attended the naming ceremony. Along with the sound of national anthems and rise of national flags for both China and Greece, and the celebrating fireworks, Godmother separately named the three vessels BOSTON, ANGEL and TENTEN.

New Century Shipbuilding GROUP, consisting of NEW CENTURY SHIPBUILDING CO., LTD. , NEW TIMES SHIPBUILDING CO., LTD. and JINGJIANG NEW CENTURY STEEL STRUCTURE PRODUCTION CO., LTD., is located in Xingang Industrial Park Jingjiang City, Jiangsu Province of China, 10 km downstream from Jiangyin Bridge. It covers an area of 1,600,000 sqm, the total length of its shoreline is 3200 meters and the sum of its total assets is about 20 billion RMB. The yard currently has the capacity of construction of 100,000~300,000 tonnes class ships and can deliver up to 5 million DWT annually. There are also around 5000 staff.
