China: Zhongxing Sea-Land Pens Passenger Ferry Contract

Zhongxing Sea-Land Engineering has received a new order from Guangdong Hope Yue Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd for the construction of a 73.7m vehicle/passenger ferry. This is the second ship to be built by Zhongxing Sea-Land for the owner.

The 73.7m double ended vehicle/passenger ferry will be equipped with dual fuel engines with predetermined power of 969KW/per unit and rated speed of 1200RPM. The trial speed will be 12 knots. The vessel will be 73.7 metres in length, 15.9 metres in breadth, 2.2 metres in depth, with a design draft of 3.8 metres. The vessel will be able to accommodate 282 passengers and will be classified by ABS.

The construction of the vessel starts in April.
