CSCL' Eight 4700-TEU Vessel Begins Service

Shanghai Jiangnan Changxing Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. (SCH) has delivered the last of eight 4,700 TEU containerships to China Shipping Container Lines Company Ltd. (CSCL). The XIN HUI ZHOU follows the XIN CANG ZHOU, which was delivered earlier in June.

The vessel’s godmother, Vice President of the Bank of China Shanghai Branch Ms. Huang Xuejun named the ship “Xin Hui Zhou” on July 23. The naming ceremony was hosted by Vice President –Mr. Zhang Jian. Delivery documents for the vessel were signed by Mr. Feng Xingguo, Mr. Zhang Jian and Mr. Tao Jian (Vice President of CSTC).

CSCL originally ordered eight 4,250 teu 260m-long vessels, in June 2008, but the order was changed into slightly larger 4,700 teu ships.
