Viridien names new CEO after eight years

The Board of Directors of French geophysical services company Viridien has appointed Henning Berg as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Director.

Viridien‘s Board of Directors appointed Berg as CEO following the general meeting held on June 3, succeeding Sophie Zurquiyah, who will remain Chair of the Board.

Zurquiyah joined the company in February 2013 as Senior Executive Vice President of the Geology Geophysics Reservoir (GGR) segment and then Chief Operating Officer (COO) in charge of the GGR business lines, Global Operational Excellence and Technology. In April 2018, she was appointed as the company’s CEO, and Chair and CEO as of April 30, 2025.

“I would like to personally thank all our employees, clients, and shareholders for their support over the past eight years. Serving as CEO during this pivotal period has been a privilege, as we rebuilt the Company and delivered on our asset-light, technology-differentiated strategy,” Zurquiyah said.

“With Henning’s experience, operational know-how, and proven leadership, combined with Viridien’s strong foundations, I am confident the Company is well positioned for continued success and long-term growth.”

Before joining Viridien as COO in March 2026, Berg served as President and Vice President across four major global businesses at SLB.
