Oil major BP has lifted into place new living quarters on the Mahogany Bravo hub off the south east coast of Trinidad.

Mahogany Bravo hub is one of BP Trinidad and Tobago’s (bpTT) flagship platforms, located in the Greater Mahogany and Amherstia (GMA) area in the Columbus Basin.

According to an update on BP’s social media channels on Sunday, the Mahogany platform now has new living quarters. The hub will cope with additional production from the Juniper field, which is expected to start gas production this year. Gas from Juniper will flow to the Mahogany B hub via a new ten kilometer in-field flowline which was installed in 2016.

The Juniper platform will take gas from the Corallita and Lantana fields located 50 miles off the south east coast of Trinidad in water-depth of approximately 360 feet. It will have a production capacity of approximately 590 million standard cubic feet a day (mmscfd).

Earlier this year, BP started the Trinidad Onshore Compression project which, once fully on stream, will have the potential to deliver approximately 200 million standard cubic feet of gas per day.
