Installation of HelWin Beta Jacket Set for Completion

After the recent sail away from Heerema Vlissingen, Siemens’ HelWin beta jacket arrived at its location in the German North Sea where the installation started by the semi-submersible construction vessel ‘Thialf’.

Installation of HelWin Beta Jacket Complete

Heerema Fabrication Group informed that the installation of the 4,500 t HelWin beta jacket and the pile driving have started.

The Vlissingen yard built the jacket, which measures 62 x 42.5 x 42 m, in just 6 months.

The jacket is part of the HelWin beta HVDC platform, which is one of the main components of the TenneT DC offshore grid connection ‘HelWin2’.

The connection with a capacity of 690 MW will connect a large wind farm cluster in the German sector of the North Sea.
