Material Found Off Augusta Not Related to MH370, Search Continues

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB), after the analyses of the photographs, confirmed that the material washed ashore 10 kilometers east of Augusta is not related to the missing flight MH370.

The search for the MH370 continues today in an area of approximately 49,567 square kilometers.

The Bluefin-21 AUV is completing its twelfth mission in the underwater search area.

It has now completed more than 90 per cent of the focused underwater search area and found no contacts of interest.

The focus of the search is on the area around the second Towed Pinger Locator detection which occurred on 08 April.

The Boeing 777 was en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing when it vanished with 239 people on board on March 08.
