Shell Showcases Local Success at Britain in Kuwait

 

Shell has joined a number of leading British businesses in Kuwait in taking part in the eighth Britain in Kuwait Exhibition at Salwa Al-Sabah Ballroom in Kuwait City that is being organised held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammed Al Ahmed Al Sabah, Prime Minister, and British Ambassador, Frank Baker.

The event gives Shell the opportunity to share the landmarks of the strategic partnership with Kuwait which extends over 60 years and its extensive technical expertise in the global oil and gas industry. The exhibition will also highlight some of the company’s social initiatives focusing on Human Development, Road Safety and the Environment.

It is an opportunity for our company to show its commitment to Kuwait as well as reaffirming its position as a trusted British business partner with Kuwait and its society,” said Mr. Ahmed Mouti, Chairman of Shell Companies in Kuwait.

“Working closely with Kuwait Petroleum Corporation and Subsidiary companies, Shell has a demonstrated a track record of applying advanced technologies to support Kuwait in meeting its energy demands and challenges,” he added.

Initiatives from Shell in Kuwait include developing Kuwait’s first natural gas discovery jointly with Kuwait Oil Company. Shell will bring its experience in managing and producing tight and sour gas to the complex Northern Jurassic Gas fields. Shell is also supporting Kuwait with a medium term solution to Energy deficits in the summer by delivering Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) to Kuwait’s floating terminal.

On the community level, Shell has launched jointly with local partners the Kuwait Annual Pre-Engineering Design Competition for high school students and will be announcing winners on 22nd of February. Shell has also organised Road Safety events focusing on the youth by raising awareness around safe driving.

In addition, Shell held the 3R’s environmental educational workshops, Reuse, Reduce, Recycle at Kuwait public and private schools. The workshops aim to give children hands on experiments to raise their environmental awareness. To date, over 2000 elementary students have graduated from 3R’s workshops.
