NextGeo wraps up trenching gig at African offshore gas project

Naples-headquartered Next Geosolutions (NextGeo) has finished the post-lay trenching assignment at a gas project off the coast of Libya, which is operated by Mellitah Oil & Gas Libyan Branch, a consortium formed by National Oil Corporation of Libya and Eni North Africa.

NextGeo has confirmed the completion of post-lay trenching work as part of the Bouri Gas Utilisation Project (BGUP) offshore Libya, expanding the range of solutions offered to customers through the integration of trenching services, in line with its growth strategy.

According to the company, operational activities within the project are carried out in support of the installation operations led by Saipem, thanks to the contribution of Rana Subsea and the collaboration, for trenching activities, with Pharos Offshore Group, the supplier of the specialist technologies used.

The firm emphasizes that this initiative reflects its approach, based on the integration of expertise and strategic industrial partnerships, to enhance the value offered across the offshore services chain.

This announcement comes after Saipem confirmed that the lifting of the gas recovery module for the BGUP was done, as part of the Italian player’s engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning (EPCIC) contract for the refurbishment of platforms and facilities at the Bouri gas field.
