Italy’s NextGeo to open office in Germany

Italy-headquartered offshore survey specialist Next Geosolutions (NextGeo) is expanding into Germany with a new office to open in Bremen.

According to the company, Bremen’s position at the heart of the North Sea maritime cluster and its growing marine technology community provide a strong environment for collaboration, R&D, innovation and the development of advanced underwater technologies.

The office will focus in particular on geoscience, subsea infrastructure, ocean technology and advanced underwater technologies. It is expected to be operational by the end of the year.

Marco Filippone will serve as Director of Underwater, Strategy & Technology, while Malte Cesson will serve as Director of Telecom Cables.

Besides its headquarters in Naples, NextGeo also has offices in Norwich in the UK, IJmuiden in the Netherlands, and Sharjah in the UAE.

Earlier this year, the company exercised the call option to acquire a further circa 7.1% of Rana Subsea, a compatriot subsea services company established in 1964, bringing its share capital to 82.5%.
