GDF Suez joins Broadscale Group

GDF Suez has become a Network Member of Broadscale Group, a new model of investment firm working with leading energy companies to commercialize promising innovations.

GDF Suez joins previously announced Network Members Duke Energy, General Electric, Johnson Controls, and National Grid.

As part of the Broadscale Network, GDF Suez will have access to unique investment and commercialization opportunities with growth stage companies. Broadscale’s commercialization platform aligns the strategic interests of industry leaders and growth companies to overcome the challenges that have made it difficult for many energy innovations to succeed.

“We are very excited to welcome GDF Suez into our Network,” said Andrew L. Shapiro, Broadscale’s founder. “With a deep commitment to innovation and deep expertise across the power generation, natural gas and LNG, and energy services businesses, GDF Suez is a great fit.”

GDF Suez Energy North America’s President and CEO Zin Smatiremarked, “Bold ideas, from the creation of the Suez Canal in the 1800s to increasing our renewable generation capacity by 50% by 2015, have been the backbone of GDF Suez’s mission to produce sustainable sources of progress around the world. By collaborating with Broadscale, we hope to facilitate the launch of technologies that can help customers and the planet in profoundly new ways.”
