Sierra Club files protest against Golden Pass LNG

Sierra Club voiced its protest against Golden Pass LNG export project to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

FERC found Sierra Club’s previously filed protest unpersuasive, and this one, which argues that the project is not in the interest of public due to its negative impacts on the environment, air and water pollution, also stating that it directly affects some Sierra Club members who engage in recreational activities.

It also argues that increased production of shale gas and prices rise would be induced by LNG exports.
