Military ship departs for Iraq

A huge military cargo ship loaded with war wares bound for Iraq left port here Wednesday evening, presumably ending a week of clashes between police and anti-war activists.
About 50 protesters staged a “die-in,” lying on the rocks and beach as the ship moved from the dock about 7:30 p.m. Protesters shouted at police and chanted, “Stop that boat.”
There was no violence as had occurred earlier in the week, and no arrests were made.
