ALE loads-out final Ichthys LNG modules

ALE said on Thursday it has completed the final module load-out for the Inpex-operated Ichthys LNG onshore facilities in Thailand.

According to the company statement, ALE’s Thailand branch were contracted by CUEL Limited to perform the load-out, site move, and weighing of total 151 modules of interconnect pipe racks, jetty pipe racks and slug catcher area and pig receiver PAU’s.

Weight of the modules varied from 24 tons to 1,928 tons, with the operation completed on January 14 for the 30th voyage from CUEL’s construction yard at Laem Chabang Port, Thailand, to Bladin Point in Darwin, Australia.

Inpex announced in September last year that it has postponed production start-up at its Ichthys LNG project until the third quarter of 2017, from the end of 2016.

The Japanese company also raised the project’s annual LNG production capacity by approximately 6% to 8.9 MTPA from the initially planned 8.4 MTPA.

The Ichthys project is a joint venture between Inpex, major partner Total, CPC Corporation and the Australian subsidiaries of Tokyo Gas, Osaka Gas, Kansai Electric, Chubu Electric Power and Toho Gas.
