Apache Halts GoM Oil & Gas Production

Apache Corporation reported that as a precautionary measure the company has ordered further evacuations and some production shut-ins at its operations in the eastern Gulf of Mexico.

In all, about 750 employees and contractors have been evacuated from the company’s facilities in the eastern Gulf. Operated production totaling about 24,000 barrels of oil per day and 91 million cubic feet of gas per day has been or will be curtailed by day’s end in anticipation of the possible approach of Tropical Storm Isaac.
