Apache to start drilling at Phoenix South-1 well (Australia)

Apache is getting ready to spud the Phoenix South-1 well, in the WA-435-P permit, offshore Western Australia.

Phoenix south - 1Carnarvon Petroleum Limited, a company with a stake in the permit, said today that Apache Energy, the operator of the block, has advised that the Atwood Eagle semi-submersible drilling rig is expected to be mobilised to the Phoenix South-1 well location around Thursday 15 May.

Drilling is expected to start approximately 5 days after the rig has begun its mobilisation from the previous location.

The equity interest holders are: Carnarvon Petroleum 20%, Apache Energy (Operator) 40%, JX Nippon 20% and Finder Exploration 20%.

Carnarvon Petroleum Limited is a Perth based company, focused on oil & gas exploration in the world-class province of the North West Shelf area off the coast of Western Australia, and is producing oil from onshore assets in Thailand.
