API voices support of House committee’s LNG vote

Bipartisan legislation approved by the House Energy and Commerce Committee will strengthen U.S. energy security by streamlining the approval process for exports of LNG, promoting infrastructure improvements, and training workers for new opportunities in the energy sector, said API.

Louis Finkel, API’s executive vice president for government affairs said that America has become the world’s largest natural gas producer, and exports have the potential to generate billions in economic opportunities for U.S. workers.

Additional educational and training opportunities created by this bill will ensure that workers of all backgrounds can prepare for new jobs in the energy sector.

API welcomed the committee’s bipartisan efforts to modernize America’s energy policies and urged members to quickly send this important bill to the House floor for a vote.
