The frame agreements, which cover operation, maintenance, modification, and engineering services, have a duration of three years with options for a total of two additional years.

Vår Energi said Monday that it had selected the two companies in strong competition with several other bidders, based on technical, commercial and HSE performance.

“Vår Energi is dedicated to creating industrial ripple effects, with particular attention to the activities in the Barents Sea. Local content and presence in the north of Norway have therefore been part of the evaluation criteria,” the company said. Vår Energi operates Norway’s northernmost production facility in the Barents Sea – the Goliat FPSO.

Annethe Gjerde, Contracts & Procurement Manager Operations in Vår Energi: “The scope of these contracts is instrumental to safe and reliable operations of our installations. I am pleased that the contracts have been awarded to two Norwegian contractors with such a strong track record on the NCS. Both Apply Sørco and Aker Solutions know our installations well, work along solid HSE practices and are dedicated to delivering at the highest standards.”

Vår Energi in September agreed to buy ExxonMobil’s offshore oil field interests in Norway to  for $4.5 billion.

Vår Energi said the ExxonMobil transaction would make it the second-largest E&P company on the NCS after Equinor, with total reserves and resources of about 1,900 million boe.
