Australia: Stena Drilling Expresses Heartfelt Condolences to Family and Friends

Stena Drilling Limited, Managers of the mobile offshore drilling unit Stena Clyde, confirm that they continue to work in close co-operation with the authorities following serious incident on its rig.

“Both Stena Drilling Limited and Stena Drilling Australia would like to offer their heartfelt condolences to the family and friends and to all those who have been affected by these very sad events. We will continue to offer help and support as best we can at this difficult time,” said the company in a press release statement.

All operations on board the drilling unit remain suspended and secure and both Stena Drilling and the relevant authorities are conducting thorough investigations to establish the exact cause of this tragic incident.

The incident took place on the Stena Clyde mobile rig, which has been working in the Otway Basin since March searching for natural gas on behalf of Origin Energy.
