Australia: Synertec Secures Milestone Triumph on QCLNG

Leading Australasian engineering consultancy, Synertec, is proud to announce its landmark proposal success on the Queensland Curtis LNG (QCLNG) Project for Bechtel Oil, Gas & Chemical, Inc.

One of the largest orders to an entirely Australian systems integrator, QCLNG will see Synertec engineer a total of 45 analysers with majority being ABB Process Gas Chromatographs, SpectraSensors TDL (Tunable Diode Laser) CO2 and Moisture Analysers.

Synertec will also supply Bechtel with eight analyser shelters, breezeway construction for natural ventilation designed for installation in a Zone 2 Hazardous Area and five analyser racks.

Managing Director of Synertec, Michael Carroll, is thrilled by his company’s historic triumph and the opportunity to work with Bechtel, a world renowned engineering provider.

Synertec will design and construct Bechtel’s Packaged Analyser Systems’ analyser shelters in Australia and all sample conditioning systems will be engineered and fabricated in Australia.

Fully automated on-line analyser systems are integral to the performance of a LNG plant as they provide critical in-process control, quality control and product billing.

The successful QCLNG bid will be led by Synertec’s experienced Automation and Electrical Design Team who have previously worked on Bechtel projects for LNG plants including Conoco Philips Darwin LNG.

QCLNG is a priority project of QGC, a BG Group business, to develop Queensland coal seam gas for Australian and international markets.

Key elements of the proposed project include a liquefaction plant on Curtis Island, near Gladstone, QLD, with initial production capacity of 8.5 million tonnes of LNG a year.

Synertec is looking forward to forging a genuine mutually-beneficial relationship with Bechtel as initiated by this landmark achievement.

Incorporated in 1996, Synertec is a multi-disciplined consulting practice providing specialist engineering and compliance services in Oil and Gas, Petrochemical and Fine Chemicals, Mining, Pharmaceutical, Food and Dairy.
