Bestobell scores new LNG contract in China

Bestobell said it has secured a new contract in China to supply cryogenic valves to Zhuhai City Gas Pipeline Co.

The contract will see Bestobell manufacturing emergency shut off valves, globe valves, pressure regulators, as well as relief and check valves to the Zhuhai Qianshan LNG storage station, which has a capacity of 20,000Nm3 NG/H, the company informed in a statement.

This latest order takes the total number of Chinese storage stations using Bestobell’s valves to more than 20.

China is expected to increase the energy share of LNG, with figures showing that the growth rate of imported LNG in 2014 was 10.3% and this is set to continue for many years. As the Chinese Government plans to import more LNG to strengthen its environmental credentials, a huge number of LNG filling stations will be built in the next 5-10 years.

It is estimated that the total number of LNG filling stations in 2020 will increase to 10,000, which is five times the existing number, according to Bestobell.
