12 Waterways in Need of Dredging

The Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) has invited bidders for a dredging program on 12 important river routes, which will be undertaken in 3 parts.

The part 1 will include dredging work by cutter suction dredger for the navigability improvement of the Dhaka-Sureswar-Angaria-Madaripur river route from Pakhira to Hajotkhola on the River Palang.

During the second phase of this contract, dredging work should provide better navigability condition for the Dhaka-Sureswar-Angaria-Madaripur river route from Hajotkhola to Katapara.

The development of the Dhaka-Sureswar-Angaria-Madaripur river route from Katapara to Wapda Ghat in Naria Khal will be the main goal for the third phase of this dredging scheme.

The deadline for this tender is July 8, 2014.
