Bladt Fits Together First Beatrice Jacket

Bladt Industries has completed the first stacking of the upper 3D structure to the lower 3D structure for the first out of 30 jacket foundations for the Beatrice Offshore Windfarm Ltd (BOWL) project.

The jacket foundations will have a height of up to approximately 70 metres with weights of up to approximately 900 tons – making them significantly larger than previous jackets structures fabricated at Lindoe, Bladt noted.

The Beatrice wind farm will comprise 84 Siemens turbines with a total capacity of 588MW. The wind farm will be located in the Outer Moray Firth, off the north coast of Scotland and will produce enough energy for approximately 470,000 homes.

Bladt Industries will provide 30 four-legged jacket foundations for the wind farm. Smulders and BiFab will fabricate the remaining 28 and 26 jackets for this project.
