Bladt Working on Sandbank’s Substation

Bladt Working on Sandbank's Substation2

On Friday morning, Bladt Industries carried out the upending of the jacket foundation for the topside of the Sandbank offshore wind farm’s substation.

At Bladt’s quay in Aalborg, the 96 metres tall crane easily upended the two sides for the jacket each weighing 525 tonnes. Once both sides were in upright position, they were joined together with remaining bracings and the cellar deck. During the next weeks, all the joints will be welded together.

Bladt’s scope of the project consists of engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI contract) of the 1,700 tonnes jacket, the four piles with a total weight of 1,050 tonnes and the topside with a total weight of 2,350 tonnes.
