Blue Energy Releases Update for Its Bowen Basin Assets (Australia)
Blue Energy Limited provides the following operational update.
Sapphire 4 Completion
The Sapphire 4 Pilot Production Test well, (drilled late 2011), is now being completed for extended production testing. The well has been perforated in the Fort Cooper Coal Measures and down hole pumping equipment and associated surface equipment is being installed. The well is expected to commence pumping operations in the next week.
Sapphire 4 intersected a significant thickness of net coal (62 metres) in the Rangal, Fort Cooper and Moranbah Coal Measures and flowed gas to surface from the Fort Cooper Coal Measures on open-hole Drill Stem Test.
Update on Monslatt Pilot testing
Testing of the Monslatt Block Pilot Test wells is continuing as we strive for uninterrupted production testing of the four pilot wells drilled across the length on this block.
Monslatt 7 with in-seam Monslatt 8H
Following a workover for well clean-up, Monslatt 7 was returned to production. The well has been producing water at a rate that is approximately 50% greater than preworkover. Based on our restricted drawdown operating procedures, the well is now nearing maximum drawdown and we expect to see a return to gas production shortly. A four week hiatus to testing operations was however experienced due to Government approval delays.
Following a workover to up-size the pump, Monslatt 5P was returned to production. At present, the well is pumping water at a rate that is approximately 30% greater than preworkover rates. This well is also now nearing maximum drawdown and we await gas breakthrough. As with Monslatt 7, a four week hiatus to testing operations was also experienced with this well due to Government approval delays.
The well is currently shut-in for an extended reservoir pressure build-up which will be used to evaluate reservoir properties.
The Monslatt 4 well is currently awaiting workover to retrieve a downhole isolation packer after which the well will be put on test. This new work is forecast to commence within the next month.
This well is available for completion and awaiting rig availability and additional Governmental approvals.
