BOA Offshore said that it has been awarded a contract by Eiffage GC Marine for transportation and float-off of 21 concrete caissons for BP’s LNG facility at the Senegal and Mauritania border.

The caissons, around 16,000 tons each, are the main elements of the breakwater for the near-shore LNG hub marine terminal for BP’s Greater Tortue Ahmeyim field development offshore Senegal and Mauritania.

BOA’s scope of work includes major modifications to the semi-submersible barge BOA Barge 33 in order to submerse to a record-breaking depth of 21 meters above deck, design, fabrication and installation of guideposts and grillage and skidding beams.

It also includes the provision of two tugs throughout the project, namely ASD tugs BOA Brage and BOA Heimdal, extensive engineering and operational services during both planning and execution.

Contract commencement is July 2019 with an operational phase in Dakar from March 2020 for a minimum duration of 6 months
