Boxship Majors Form New Asia-ECSA Loops
Six major container lines are teaming up on new Asia – East Coast South America weekly services starting on July 11, when the first container ship in one of the services is scheduled to leave South Korea’s port of Pusan.
NYK Line, CMA-CGM, Hamburg Süd, Hapag-Lloyd, China Shipping Container Lines, and United Arab Shipping Company will deploy a total of twenty-three boxships ranging from 8,000 to 10,000 TEUs.
The 77-day-round service NEX1 (New East Coast South America Express 1) will be serviced by eleven 8,000-9,000 TEU container ships on the following rotation:
Shanghai – Ningbo – Yantian – Hong Kong – Singapore – Port Kelang – Sepetiba – Santos – Itapoa – Navegantes – Paranagua – Santos – Port Kelang – Singapore – Hong Kong – Shanghai.
The first ship within the NEX1 service will sail westbound from the port of Shanghai on July 14.
The 84-day-round NEX2 (New East Coast South America Express 2) will deploy the remaining twelve 8,000-10,000 TEU boxships to service the following ports:
Pusan – Qingdao – Shanghai – Ningbo – Chiwan – Singapore – Port Kelang – Santos – Paranagua – Montevideo – Buenos Aires – Rio Grande – Itapoa – Santos – Port Kelang – Singapore – Pusan.
