BP Expects to Award Tangguh 3rd LNG Train Contract by Quarter-End

BP plans to award a $5 billion frontend engineering and design (FEED) contract for a third liquefaction train for the Tangguh project in Indonesia by the end of this quarter, Jakarta Globe quoted William Lin, the regional president for BP’s Asia-Pacific operation, as saying.

The final investment decision for the $12 billion project will be made in 2015 and the first LNG shipment is scheduled for 2019, Lin said.

BP intends to build a third liquefaction train with a capacity of 3.8 mtpa at the Tangguh site. Current LNG production from Tangguh comes from two LNG trains each with a capacity of 3.8 mtpa.
