BP Extends Safe Scandinavia's Valhall Operations (Norway)

Prosafe and BP Norge AS have agreed to extend the Safe Scandinavia’s operations at Valhall  in the Norwegian part of North sea until 31st January 2013.

In addition, Prosafe has granted BP Norge AS an additional one-month option. The value of the one-month contract extension is approximately USD 9.3 million.

Safe Scandinavia was built in 1984 at the Aker Verdal yard to an Aker H-3.2E design.

The rig has a twelve (12) point, all chain mooring system allowing station keeping in the harshest of environments.

With a maximum of 583 beds, two workshops and 60 workstations, together with very high levels of accommodation, good cranage and a high payload capacity, the Safe Scandinavia is an offshore support vessel suitable for construction, commissioning and remedial work.
