BP to shut down Tangguh LNG train 2 for maintenance

Train 2 of BP’s Tangguh LNG facility in Indonesia will reportedly be shut down in the second quarter of 2015.

As company’s spokesman told Reuters, the shutdown is due to a routine maintenance procedure carried out at the facility.

BP did not answer to an LNG World News e-mail seeking information about the start and the duration of the maintenance.

Work is now ongoing to expand the plant’s current capacity of 7.6 mtpa will to 11.4 mtpa with the addition of a third liquefaction train. In October, 2014, BP awarded the onshore front end engineering and design for the $12 billion Tangguh expansion project, to two consortiums.
