Brazil to get two new LNG terminals

Following a government auction Bolognesi Group of Brazil will build two LNG receiving terminals and associated power plants in the states of Pernambuco and Rio Grande do Sul.

According to the Bolognesi Group founder, Ronaldo Bolognesi, the company already signed a long-term LNG contract with a major international supplier.

Argus reports that Excelerate Energy will provide the FSRUs with a regasification capacity of 14 million cbm per day, with 6 million cbm being set to fuel the plants. Rest of the capacity will be sold to local industries.

Bolognesi added that the gas will be distributed via a future pipeline to several cities in the region. Government plans a build-and-operate auction for the pipeline in 2015.
